Bastien and Bastienne

The past few weeks I have been rehearsing Bastien and Bastienne, one of Mozart’s first operasHe was a mature 12 years old when he wrote this cute little one act opera. It is a comedic story of a shepherdess who believes her lover has gone and found another to love.  As she meets the village soothsayer craziness ensues!

We have two performances set, Tuesday, September 9 at Hunter College in the Lang Recital Hall and Tuesday, September 30 at the Graduate Center in Elebash Recital Hall.  Also to fill out the program a few members of the orchestra will be performing solo works.  Rob Keiser will be performing Robert Schumann’s Papillons, Will Downy will be performing Fritz Kreisler’s Liebesfreud and I will be singing Darius Milhaud’s Chansons de Ronsard.

It should be a great evening for all!

If you’d like to help out this production, and allow us to add more performances or want to be updated with pictures and future performances check out our Indigogo page.  Donate a few dollars if you can!
